This is PL71 in Tree 5. He also appears in Tree 13 and is a direct ancestor of the New Zealand branch which can be found in Tree 14. To the best of my knowledge he was a plumber (and latterly also in the related trade of glazier) for all his life. I think it likely that "fireman" is an error by the compiler of the Directory.
