1823 : Mr Pluckrose lives in a House that is for Sale

Valuable Freehold and Leasehold Estates, City of London, Limehouse, Middlesex, St. Paul's, Deptford, and Woolwich, in Kent. - By Mr. CHAS. WRIGHT, at Garraway's, on Wednesday, April 30, at 12, by direction of the executors of James Smith, esq. deceased, in lots.

Lot 1. A Leasehold substantial brick Dwelling-house, with garden, pleasantly situate, being No.9, Friendly-street, Deptford New Town. Held for an unexpired term of 48 years at Christmas last, at a low ground-rent.
Lot 2. A leasehold substantial brick dwelling-house, with masons' workshops and convenient yard, eligibly situate, in the preferable part of Woolwich, at Church-hill, opposite the royal dock-yard, in the occupation of Mr. John Cox, at will. Held for an unexpired term of 70 years at Christmas last, at a low ground-rent.
Lot 3. A substantial brick dwelling-house, with yard and cowhouse, in the occupation of Mr. Owen, at will; adjoins lot 2, and held for the like term, at a peppercorn ground-rent.
Lot 4. A valuable freehold estate, called Pendle Cottage, with large garden and spacious forecourt, having an extensive frontage next the road, and pleasantly situate, nearly opposite the 4 mile-stone, on the high road from London to Deptford, near the Broadway. In the occupation of Mr. Balldon, to whom it is on lease.
Lot 5. A freehold brick dwelling-house, being No.4, on the west side of St. Ann's-street, Commercial-road, near the church at Limehouse; in the occupation of Mr. Pluckrose, at will.
Lot 6. A freehold brick dwelling-house, eligibly situate, being No. 12, Great Swan-alley, Coleman-street, in the City of London, let to Mr. Pugh, at will.
Lot 7. A ditto, being 14, near the above, and of similar description; in the occupation of Mr. Pugh, at will.
May be viewed by leave of the tenants, and particulars had on the premises; at the place of sale; Dover Castle, Broadway, Deptford; Ship tavern, Woolwich; of Messrs.Bicknell and Smith, solicitors, Croom's-hill, Greenwich; and of Mr. Wright, surveyor and auctioneer, Blue-stile, Greenwich.
