1884 : Annie Pluck Charged with Infanticide

ANNIE PLUCK. (19) was indicted for the wilful murder of her newborn child.

The prisoner stating in the hearing of the Jury that she was guilty of concealing the birth of her child, the Jury found that verdict, and no evidence was offered on the charge of murder. — Ten Months' Hard Labour.

Annie's birth was registered in Q4 1865: Mile End, 1c, 580 [PL1779 in Tree 6].  In the 1881 census she was one of three servants (a nursemaid) in the household of the Rev James Watts, the curate in charge of St Mary, Crundale, Kent.   Annie was born in Bromley by Bow.
