1889 : Mr E Pluckrose Goes Fishing

GOOD-INTENT ANGLING SOCIETY

Forty of our members fished at Burnt Mill for twelve prizes on the 24th ult. The weather was so severe that only four prizes were taken by Messrs. Tucker, 1; F. James, 2; G. Green, 3; E. Pluckrose, 4. On March 3 we fish at Pangbourne for twelve prizes. The train leaves Westbourne Park at 9.5. Members please note the time. — R. Murphy.

 

I have no idea who Mr E Pluckrose was, but the Good Intent Angling Society still exists .
