NORTH LONDON

MIDNIGHT FOOTPADS AT HACKNEY. - Frank Andrews, 23, butcher, of Brunswick-street, Hackney, was charged before Mr. Fenwick Fenwick with assaulting Samuel Pluckrose, a boot laster, of Victoria-park-road. - The prosecutor said at one o’clock that morning he was passing through Mare-street on his way home, when the prisoner pounced on him, seized him by the legs, and threw him over his head. Prosecutor fell on to the pavement, striking the crown of his head and inflicting an extensive scalp wound. When he came to himself, he found that his right thumb had been put out, and he was altogether disabled so far as work was concerned. No doubt the object was robbery, but fortunately Constable Mills, 535 J, appeared on the scene as the assault was committed, and he arrested the prisoner (who he said had been several times convicted of felony) almost in the act - Mr. Fenwick sentenced the prisoner to six weeks’ hard labour.

This Samuel Pluckrose is PL1936 in Tree1010.
