Roscrea Girl in Court

Found in a shed at Tallaght, Co. Dublin, John Pluck, farm labourer, no fixed abode, but stated to be from Wicklow; Patrick Breen, Cross St., New Ross, Co. Wexford, and a 16 years old girl from Roscrea, were charged at Rathfarnham District Court with vagrancy. The girl had been sent for milk on February 1st and a fortnight later her father was told that she was in Mountjoy prison. She had gone by bus to Dublin with the other defendants, and had come to no physical harm. Pluck and Breen were sentenced to two months’ imprisonment, with hard labour. The charge against the girl was dismissed on her father entering into a bond to keep her under control.
