Daniel Pluck sailed from Mauritius to Port Jackson, NSW on 20th August 1854. He was one of two steerage passengers
(the other James Smith) on the barque Fanny Fisher (registered in Sydney) carrying sugar, rum etc from Mauritius.
From the Unassisted Immigrant passenger list 1826-1922.
There is some evidence that he was a professional sailor.
