1845 : John Pluck, Post Boy, found guilty of riding his Horse "furiously" while drunk

POLICE INTELLIGENCE.

CARDIFF. — MONDAY, 1st SEPT., 1845.

Present. — Henry Morgan and Whitlock Nicholl, Esqrs.

John Pluck, post boy at the Cardiff Arms Inn, was charged with, on Saturday evening last, furiously riding one horse and leading another up and down Saint Mary-street, much to the danger of the inhabitants, he being drunk at the time, and unable to manage his horses. This being his first offence, he was let off by giving 2s. 6d. to the Infirmary; he was also told to inform his master that no one was allowed to gallop through the streets.
