He died on 24 November 1914, aged 28, and was buried at Le Touret Military Cemetery, Richebourg-L'Avoue, Pas de Calais.

At the outbreak of war the 2nd battalion of the Leicestershire regiment was stationed in India as part of the Gharwal Brigade, Meerut Division of the Indian Army. The whole division was sent to France on 12th October 1914.

The CWGC site records that he was the son of Alfred and Mary Ann Pluck of 64 Lyndoch Street, Kingsland Road, London.

He is PL1790 and can be found on Tree 6.
