He died on 26 April 1918, aged 26. He is commemorated at the Tyne Cot Memorial.

The CWGC site records that he was the son of Mrs Ellen Pluck of 27 Glebe Road, Letchworth, and the husband of Amelia Jane Pluck, of 4 Rushby Mead, Letchworth.

He married Amelia Jane Craft on 21 December 1912 and they had two children, William in 1913, and Joyce, who was born some months after he was killed.
