Linton Pluckroses
Origins
There are several John Pluckroses around but none that fits the bill.
Notes on some individuals
| 0164 | BURGOYNE | Mary | The parish register records - 'Mary Burgoyne, bastard dau of Susannah Burgoyne and Joseph Pluckrose'. |
| 0132 | PLUCKROSE | Frances | This is an example of an early name change. The parish register says Pluckrose but the Bishop's transcript has Pluck. There are other examples in this tree. |
| 0129 | PLUCKROSE | Mary | Thomas and Rose Pluckrose baptised a Mary in Hildersham on 27 April 1735. This could be a coincidence but it looks very much like the same family. Linton and Hildersham are only a couple of miles apart. |
| 0127 | PLUCKROSE | Rose | Rose married James Cartwright in 1754 and produced a daughter who married a William Strange. His son John produced a son called Isaac who moved from Linton and founded Strange’s Boatyard in Cambridge. James and Rose are the ancestors of Pauline Thake and Russell Ellwood. |
