2871 | DOYLE | Julia | Emigrated to the USA in 1892. Surname from daughter Mary's baptismal record. There is a possible burial record: July 1932, Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ. |
1878 | PLUCK | Bernard | Bernard emigrated to America via Ellis Island: Name: Bernard Pluck Ethnicity: Ireland Place of residence: Queenstown Date of arrival: 11 Mar 1897 Age on arrival: 23y Gender: M Marital Status: Ship of travel: Aurania Port of departure: Liverpool, England, UK. In the 1900 US Federal Census he is living in Newark, New Jersey, with a wife, one year old child and his brother-in-law. His date of immigration is recorded as 1896. His employment is "Laborer - day". His date of birth is recorded in the census as Aug 1873 - the month is right but the year is not. The figures, however, are consistent with those recorded on immigration. At the moment, however, I do not have any other Bernard who might fit the bill. In the 1910 census (age 38) he is an inmate in the Essex County Hospital for the Insane and he is still there in the 1920 census (age 58 sic). He is not found in the 1930 census. |
2875 | PLUCK | Dolores | C1930; C1940. |
3035 | PLUCK | James | Known from son's marriage record. |
3741 | PLUCK | Joan | C1940 |
1872 | PLUCK | Laurence | When he married in November 1864 his age was recorded as 29 which indicates a birth in 1835. |
1884 | PLUCK | Laurence | Birth record gives his mother's forename as Sally |
2873 | PLUCK | Laurence | C1910; C1920: office clerk; C1930: policeman; C1940: policeman |
1881 | PLUCK | Margaret | It is possible that Margaret emigrated to America - perhaps following her brother Bernard who went there in 1897. Entry via Ellis Island: Name: Margaret Pluck Ethnicity: British Place of residence: Kathdown, Ireland Date of arrival: 15 Jun 1910 Age on arrival: 30y Gender: F Marital Status: S Ship of travel: Majestic Port of departure: Queenstown, Cork, Munster, Ireland. She would have been aged 35, not 30 as listed, but this is not a problem, and Kathdown probably ought to be Rathdrum. |
2872 | PLUCK | Mary | C1900; C1910; c1920: a stenographer; C1930: secretary-stenographer, unmarried. |
2874 | [PLUCK] | Christine | C1930: father born in New Jersey, mother in Ireland. |
