BRENTWOOD SCHOOL SPORTS

QUARTER MILE RECORD

The annual athletic sports of Brentwood School were held on Saturday (1 April 1939). A large gathering of parents, friends, and old boys assembled on the school playing fields. Rain had made the ground heavy, and against good records, but the events were keenly contested, and excellent times were registered. The house competition was fought out mainly between North and South, the latter taking the lead towards the close. Parrish lowered the record for the quarter-mile, winning in 55sec. The Dr. West Challenge Cup for the winner of most points (seventy-fourth year) went to J. Parrish, and the House Cup was won by South Town.
