Reports from Clubs

Shepherd’s Bush Angling Association, Goldhawk Hotel, Shepherd’s Bush, W. — A meeting of this association was held here on Oct. 3, and was very largely attended. Mr. Heard, at our last meeting, brought forward the question of a club championship, and the matter was favourably commented on and again discussed at considerable length, but definite decision was deferred. A further suggestion, which met with marked approval, was made that a supper be held at headquarters on Oct. 25. Members who were not present, but who are desirous of participating in this pleasant function, are kindly requested to send their names in to the secretary by or before Oct. 18. It is interesting to mention the fact that a fishing punt for the general use of the association has been provided by the co-operation of certain of the members, prominent among them being Messrs. Gash, Kitsell, Pluckrose, and Wingett. The most interesting items in the weighing-in list since my last report are as follow: Mr. C. Benwell, at Hemingford Grey, bream, 18lb. 7¾oz.; roach, 6lb. 13¾oz. (largest 1lb. ¾oz.) The same gentleman, at Richmond, on the 3rd inst., dace, 1lb. 4¼oz.; roach, 1lb. 14oz.; and one barbel, 3lb. 15¼oz.; the latter a really fine fish. Others have been out, but have not been very successful. Next meeting on Oct. 17, when important discussions are anticipated. — C. E.
