Reports from Clubs
Shepherd’s Bush Angling Association, Goldhawk Hotel, Shepherd’s Bush, W. — The first supper of the season took place at headquarters on the 25th ult., many of the members being present. Amongst them were Messrs. Acton, Baldock, Benwell, Chandler, Ellis, Golding, Greening, Gray, Gash, Heard, Herbert, Jenner, Lanark, Payne, Prout, Powe, Pluckrose, Rogers, Taylor, and Wright. Mr. C. Benwell, president occupied the chair, supported by Mr. G. Pluckrose, vice-president. After the customary benediction by the chairman, the company proceeded to discuss, with much spirit, the excellent repast provided by the host, Mr. A. H. J. Heard, who deserves every credit for the manner in which he administers to the requirements of the members. Supper over, the musical proceedings were opened in energetic style by Messrs. Payne, Herbert, Gray, Benwell, Pluckrose, Baldock, Powe, Taylor, and Prout, who ably presided at the piano. Many of the members have been out lately, but sport has been indifferent. Mr. G. Plumstead, however, and Mr. F. Kerven, have both had very fair catches of roach. Next general meeting Nov. 7, 9 p. m. punctually. — C. E.
