1917 : Frederick James Pluck is Missing in Action

Toll for the Brave

In addition to the names already published, the following brave Great Eastern Railway men have lost their lives in their Country’s service:—

MR. FREDERICK JAMES PLUCK, of Lowestoft, whose death is now assumed by the Army authorities to have taken place on or since July 1st, 1916, joined the Suffolk Regiment at the end of April, 1915, and later on proceeded to France with the Machine Gun Corps. He was posted as missing after the “Great Push” of last year. Born on March 1st, 1890, he entered the Company’s service as a greaser when eighteen years of age. In September, 1909, he became cleaner, and ranked as acting fireman as from July, 1912.
