Obtaining Roomy Baths

[Winner of half-crown prize]

To obtain a roomy bath, which enables our birdy friends to bathe with every freedom, and at the same time keep their living cage snug and dry, sort out your old Yorkshire show cages, take off the door and a wire at each side to widen the aperture; place inside a shallow dish or tin to hold the water. If you treat three or four cages like this, and hang them all on at the same time, it will induce even your “tramps” to take their “annual,” as they can see the other birds ducking and splashing about. — Thomas Pluck, Oak Street, Cargo Fleet, Yorkshire.

This is probably one of the Thomas's in Tree 1002.
